First fit of Morgan wings complete

After much careful trimming, shaping and tailoring both front wings now fit the align with the car! Tape measure in bin as true craftmanship is done by eye and gut feel (at least that's what Keith at Brands Hatch Morgan told us!!).

Wings now back off with the filling and paint prep now well underway - hours of fun!!

All looking good for being back ready for the hire season soon .......

Morgan with new wings for 2012 hire season!

With a few rust patches appearing on the Morgan front wings (we replaced the rear wings a couple of years ago) we decide to take the plunge and replace the front ones this winter - and they arrived just in time for Christmas!

So old wings off, engine out and doing some minor repairs to get ready for fitting the new wings - there is not much to the front end of a Morgan when stripped!

The Stag's last hire of 2011 and the camshaft mystery

So Simon's 50th birthday weekend turned out a little differently than planned when the Stag decided to snap (yes snap!) a camshaft coming back to into us from the top of Shap - not a good place when the wind is whistling around!

So Simon had a day out in the TR4A the next day ( a very acceptable substitute!) and we started trying to work out what had happened. Engine out and heads off and seems that the water pump had jammed and locked everything up causing shaft to break.

The heads have been checked and are all OK and the car will be back together over the next few weeks as all the new bits arrive...... what a way to end the season?!

New Classic Lotus Elise Sports Car for hire!

Well its 12 months since we added the Healey 3000 to the fleet so this is a sneak preview of the new addition - just doing a few bits of tidying up and running ourselves (what a hardship!) and will be ready for hire over the next week or two.

A 1998 car and becoming a classic, this Lotus Elise S1 is a great car to drive and defines what Lotus cars are about - a back to basics sports car with superb handling and a fantastic driving experience.

Be warned - this is the most difficult car to get in and out of that we've come across! Especially with the roof on ..... !

Paul & Amanda's wedding with the Healey!

So its congratulations to Paul and Amanda who chose the Lakes for their wedding and picked the Healey 3000 as the car to add to the excitement of the day!! Despite a wet morning the sun soon came out and we're waiting to see the rest of the photos of the Bride, Groom and car! Congratulations again and wishing you both every happiness! Rob & Kerry

The TR4A Triumph!

Well we've just had our first 'engagement' of the year and Emma said 'YES!' to James' surprise proposal which followed the surprise of the car and a romantic weekend away in the Lakes! Congratulations to you both and the cars maintain their 100% success rate!

The Season starts!

Well after a difficult winter and early Spring with sub zero temperatures, more snow than we've seen here before and flooded roads we are so pleased that we've finally mnanaged to hire cars out this week! Spring finally seems to be arriving and lets hope the sunshine continues!

Our Triumph Stag and cottages feature in new music video

Jacqui Rolston has recently released her new music video for which she and the film crew hired our Stag and stayed with us for a few days in Byre Cottage whilst they filmed in and around the Lakes enjoying the roads in the car.

The Healey's first hirers - all the way from Australia!

So the Healey has now been out on its first hire with Pat & Julie who came all the way from Australia! Maybe not just to hire the Healey but they certainly agreed that this way the best way to enjoy the stunning scenery and routes around the Lakes & Dales!

With superb weather - the show was a great success for us as well as Wigton Motor Club (the organisers) and the Healey attracted a huge amount of interest! Booked in for MOT now and the running in starts ..........

The only Classic Mini Cooper S available for hire in the UK

��We have recently added this car to the fleet having been offered the car privately as it was not really for sale � Dave decided that he was not using the car and wanted it to be used and enjoyed � and we certainly are enjoying it!

The car was originally registered in the Lake District in 1970 and has remained in Cumbria ever since � having been restored twice and featured in several magazines as a superb restoration. By strange coincidence, a friend of ours also owned this Mini Cooper about 15 years ago before selling it to buy a Cosworth (no accounting for taste!)

With Jack Knight 5-speed box, 1380 engine and fast road cam this is a real driving experience of a classic BMC car!
